Dear Wendy,

As humans, we will all inevitably face doubts and issues that take our eyes off Christ and back on ourselves. The problem is that once we look at ourselves or begin to compare ourselves to others, we will see our inadequacies and in turn become discouraged. Our identity, strength, and power must come from Christ! See, we are citizens of an upside Kingdom! The Word says: “My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness. Therefore I will boast all the more gladly about my weaknesses, so that Christ’s power may rest on me. 2 Cor 12:9 When we boast about our weakness, His power becomes stronger in us because admitting we are weak causes us to be humble.

And the Word says “For all those who exalt themselves will be humbled, and those who humble themselves will be exalted. The bible says that you are Wonderfully and Fearfully made my dear! Don’t believe the lies of the enemy or fall into the trap of comparison. Beauty is something sought after in this world, but it¹s important to know what kind of beauty God delights in. Your beauty should not be an external one, consisting of braided hair or the wearing of gold ornaments and dresses. Instead, it should be the inner disposition of the heart, consisting in the imperishable quality of a gentle and quiet spirit, which God values greatly. After all, this is how holy women who set their hope on God used to make themselves beautiful in the past. 1 Peter 3:3
